Dear Advancement Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of the new Executive Assistant for the Vice-Principal (Advancement), Shelley Aylesworth-Spink.
Shelley is a valued long-time employee of Queen's, who brings a diverse set of skills and wealth of experience with her into this role. Shelley was most recently the Director for the Office of the Dean in the School of Graduate Studies, where she was responsible for strategic operations, organizing workflow and providing administrative expertise in support of the School's mission to recruit the highest quality graduate students for Queen's and expand graduate enrolment.
During her time at Queen's, Shelley has also held senior administrative positions in both Queen's Student Affairs and the Office of the Principal.
Prior to her time at Queen's, she was the Manager of Public Affairs for Kingston General Hospital and worked in communications positions in the private sector. She holds a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Waterloo, a Masters of Public Administration from Queen's University, and is a part-time PhD Candidate in Cultural Studies at Queen's.
We are delighted to have Shelley join our team, and we know she will play a critical role as a member of the Advancement Leadership Team in the operations and administration of the Office of Advancement, and in working closely with the senior administration of the University.
Shelley begins her new role as EA to the VP Advancement on Monday April 26th, and we will be working with the School of Graduate Studies to ensure a seamless transition.
