International Experiences

Bader International Study Centre, Herstmonceux Castle

Did we mention that we have a castle?

Imagine a 15th Century castle as your home, with Europe as your classroom. This is not your normal university experience. This is the Bader International Study Centre (BISC) at Herstmonceux Castle in southern England.

At the Castle you will become part of a diverse student body representing some of the finest universities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Japan, China, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Korea, and the Caribbean. Your time at the Castle will take you and your educational experience to some remarkable places by taking advantage of the BISC’s location to allow for academic field trips and hands-on learning.

Customized field studies — where courses move from the classroom into the world to allow for hands-on learning — are an integral component of each program. And smaller class sizes allow for more thoughtful discussions and critical debates, generating a deeper understanding of, and engagement with, the surrounding culture and environment.
