Supporting Student Success at Queen's: An Overview of First-Year Transition Programs

It is widely recognized that the early experiences of university students have a profound impact on student academic success and co-curricular engagement. Queen's acknowledges that students are undertaking learning transitions during this time, which may involve personal, social, academic, and environmental change. The Division of Student Affairs aims to facilitate a positive and successful transition for all incoming students through a comprehensive, intentional, and interrelated orientation process. This session will introduce prospective students and their families to the various first-year transition programs, services, and resources available to students as they begin their studies at Queen's.
