The Faculty of Arts & Science and the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science grant credit for Advanced Level courses in the GCE curriculum. For the Faculty of Arts & Science, a maximum of 18 credit units may be granted. Students in the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science may be granted credit for Advanced Level Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Please note that the School of Business and the School of Nursing do not grant credit for courses in the GCE curriculum.
Undergraduate Admission will assess students' Advanced Level courses to determine whether or not Queen's credits will be granted. In order to have their courses assessed, students must ensure that Undergraduate Admission receives an official copy of their final results from the Exam Board(s). Undergraduate Admission will not request this on a student's behalf.
The majority of Advanced Level courses have already been assessed to determine whether or not Queen's credit can be granted. However, there are certain courses that are assessed on a case-by-case basis. For these courses, students will need to provide Undergraduate Admission with course outlines / syllabus from the Exam Board(s).
In order to be considered for Queen's credit, students entering the Faculty of Arts & Science must achieve a grade of B or higher in their Advanced Level courses. The Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science requires a grade of A to receive transfer credit.
