Queen's University

Admission Notes for students studying in the Yukon:

Yukon follows the British Columbia Program of Studies, and subsequently the BC requirements for secondary school graduation.

Please note that students applying for admission to Queen's University who are completing the BC curriculum will NOT be required to present Provincial Exam grades. Queen's will use the blended mark for English 12 since all students are required to write the Provincial Exam.

For students who choose to write the Provincial Exam for any other subject, Queen's will use the better of the in-class grade or blended grade for both admission and scholarship decisions.

If a student took a Grade 12 course prior to September 2006, Queen's will use the blended mark for both admission and scholarship averages. Courses taken after August 31, 2006 will follow the policy above.

In addition, Queen's does not require the BC Portfolio, second language or LPI. However, all students must complete the BC Dogwood diploma and fulfill its requirements in order to be admitted to Queen's.

NOTE: Students applying to the Queen's Commerce program must present English 12; either Principles of Math 12 or Calculus 12 (or the AP equivalents); and two courses from different subject areas not including English or Math courses (Sciences, Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences). For example a student can use English 1, Calculus 12, History 12 and Geography 12. A student cannot use English 12, Calculus 12, Biology 12 and Chemistry 12 as Biology and Chemistry are TWO sciences and do not present course variety. Students who do not present course variety will NOT receive admission to Queen's Commerce. Please consult the current viewbook for more information and minimum mark requirements.
