Transfer to Queen's from College

We will consider applicants, from a Canadian College Diploma Program, on an individual basis. If you have completed a one-year diploma program (or one year of a two or three-year diploma program) you are not eligible for admission consideration unless you have completed the final academic secondary school year of the jurisdiction in which you attended secondary school. You may be considered on that basis, if you have a two-year diploma program (or two years of a three-year diploma program) you are eligible to be considered for admission to the first-year of a degree program, and you may receive a maximum of 18 credit units depending on the program. Students with three-year diploma program or a four-year degree program are eligible to be considered for admission with credit for one year (30 credit units) of a degree program in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Credits may also be allowed on an individual basis for other programs.

College Applicants

Candidates who have graduated from a 2 or 3-year College Diploma program, or a 4-year college degree program are considered on an individual basis and must meet specified admission prerequisites based on the program they are interested in applying to.

College Certificate Graduates, or 1-year of a 2- or 3-year Diploma completed

Applicants presenting a College Certificate or have completed 1 year of a 2 or 3-year program are not eligible for admission consideration unless they have completed the final academic secondary school requirements for admission in the jurisdiction in which they attended secondary school. These applicants may be eligible for admission consideration based on their high school courses. 3-year Diploma and 4-year College Degree Graduates

Applicants presenting a 2-year diploma (or 2 years of a 3-year diploma) are eligible to be considered for admission to first-year of a degree program. Students entering a program under the Faculty of Arts and Science are eligible to receive up to 18.0 units of unspecified 100-level transfer credit. Admission Requirements

All applicants must have a minimum 2.9 cumulative GPA (on a 4.3 scale) in order to be eligible for admission consideration. Please note that high school marks are not used in the average calculation. In addition to diploma completion, some Queen's programs require specific high school course prerequisites.

Computing (QD) English 4U, Advanced Functions 4U, Calculus and Vectors 4U
Fine Art (QT) No prerequisite subjects. Portfolio Examination.
Music (QM)
 
No prerequisite subjects. For Royal Conservatory of Music levels, please contact the Dan School of Drama and Music. Personal audition, interview and aural discrimination test.
Music Theatre (QMT) No prerequisite subjects. Personal Audition.
Kinesiology (QK) Biology 4U, Advanced Functions 4U, plus two of Calculus and Vectors 4U, Chemistry 4U or Physics 4U.
Smith School of Business
Commerce (QC)
Calculus and Vectors 4U plus one additional 4U Mathematics with minimum grades of 80%.
Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science
Engineering (QE)
Calculus and Vectors 4U, Chemistry 4U, Physics 4U, plus one of Advanced Functions 4U, Biology 4U, Data Management 4U, Computer Science 4U or Earth and Space Science 4U (or equivalent). Graduates of Technology programs are considered for first year. Exemptions for upper-year courses may be granted after the completion of the common first year and an engineering discipline has been chosen.
School of Nursing
Nursing Science (QN)
English 4U, Biology 4U, Chemistry 4U, and any 4U Mathematics (or equivalent). Minimum English final grade of 75%.
