At Queen's, our welcoming living and learning environments offer students the programs and services needed to be successful. Of course, students still look to their parents or guardians for guidance.

These pages are designed to provide you, Queen's parents and guardians, with information and resources to empower your student to succeed, both academically and personally, at Queen's.

Important Dates


  • November 6: Last date to drop Fall classes
  • November 7: Accommodation Requests due for December exams (including Religious Accommodations)
  • November 7 & 21: Fall Preview Day – applicants and families are invited to come and learn about Queen's!
  • November 15: Last date to apply for admission to the Upper-Year Program at the Bader International Study Centre (BISC) for Winter Term
  • November 17-18: Fall Convocation (See schedule)


  • December 1: First date to apply to graduate in SOLUS for Spring 2016
  • December 1: Deadline to apply for Major Admission Awards for students applying to Queen's for 2016-17
  • December 1: Early admission offers are sent out. Applications will be assessed until mid-May
  • December 4: Fall term classes end
  • December 9-23: Exam period. Please note: To maintain a quiet study environment, students must leave residences within 24 hours of last exam
  • December 15: APA requests due for students not paying winter tuition and SAL by January 10
  • December 24: University will close at noon and reopen January 4

Sessional dates:

  • When making travel plans, be sure to check the sessional dates specific to your student's faculty/school.
  • Academic calendars provide additional information on regulations, policies, programs, courses and degree requirements; or visit your student's faculty site for more details.
