Physicists prove existence of God particle: Queen's University professor
Queen’s University physics professor Philippe Di Stefano is available to comment on Wednesday’s expected announcement that physicists have all but proven that the Higgs boson (God particle) exists. This announcement could restructure the understanding of why matter has mass, which combines with gravity to give an object weight.
“The so-far elusive Higgs boson is the cornerstone of modern particle physics theory. Finding it would cement the standard model of particle physics into place and represent a great accomplishment for the many physicists involved,” says Dr. Di Stefano.
Dr. Di Stefano works in astroparticle physics experiments including SNOLAB, a deep-earth laboratory located two miles underground near Sudbury.
