Enbridge fined $3.7 million for oil spill: Queen's University expert
Queen’s University expert Warren Mabee is available to talk about today’s news that Enbridge Ltd. of Calgary will face a $3.7 million penalty from the U.S. government because of a major 2010 pipeline oil spill in Michigan.
“We have an increasingly complex, aging pipeline system across North America – and we can expect more spills in the future as a result. It’s clear that companies and regulators need to work diligently to ensure the continued safe operation of this system,” says Dr. Mabee, a School of Policy Studies professor and director of the Queen's Institute for Energy & Environmental Policy.
