Imagine a 15th Century castle as your home, with Europe as your classroom. This is not your normal university experience. This is the Bader International Study Centre (BISC) at Herstmonceux Castle in southern England.
At the Castle you will become part of a diverse student body representing some of the finest universities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Japan, China, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Korea, and the Caribbean. Your time at the Castle will take you and your educational experience to some remarkable places by taking advantage of the ISC’s location to allow for academic field trips and hands-on learning.
The Queen’s experience is not exclusive to our Kingston campus. At Queen’s we are proud of the leadership role we take as a university in emphasizing the importance of an international experience.
We offer many international study opportunities to enhance every undergraduate and graduate program from exchanges to field trips, international internships and practicums. We have partnerships with 120 universities around the world, giving you the opportunity to study abroad while earning credits towards your Queen’s degree.
Earn Queen’s University credits during intensive three-week or five-week study-abroad programs in various locations around the world. Queen’s-Blyth Worldwide students learn where they live. Imagine studying archaeology beside the Acropolis, or practising Mandarin under the shadow of the Temple of Heaven. Watch your studies come to life before your eyes!
Customized field studies — where courses move from the classroom into the world to allow for hands-on learning — are an integral component of each program. And smaller class sizes allow for more thoughtful discussions and critical debates, generating a deeper understanding of, and engagement with, the surrounding culture and environment.
